"A Dream Sought, Never Really In Sight"

From a dark poem I wrote a long time ago. If you are interested in more, I have it. i think it would be great in one of your abstract pieces. You could really do it justice!

My title suggestions are:

1) Ontology of a Monday
2) Metonym

Beautiful and compelling work as always, and of course, never quotidian. :-)

A couple of thoughts..."A Humble Brutality" or "A Brutal Humility". The painting makes me think of the feeling I had right after my first amateur fight.
Or "Dust Off My Boots", from a poem...I'm feelin either.

At first look what came through to me was the motion - progressing from the dark and getting lighter while at the same time revealing what may have been hidden in the darkness. I suppose I am relating my experience of the painting to my personal life but art can do that. Therefore my title ideas would be either "Revelation" or "Forward Momentum" In any regard another outstanding work no matter what the title.

I look at this painting, and I think "The Sky's the Limit.

The first thought that came to me was the work contained the "bare essentials", then when you view the distant shot, although the painting is non-objective if you use your imaginiation you can almost see a bear, maybe "bear essential"

Hey Shel! I like "Flexible World" ... it's me from girls night out

To me it has a locomotion feel to it as if it is some futuristic train gliding across water that is part of the world in Michele's head, a future world perhaps. Motion, speeding, progressing forward without fear. I think that seems to be what Michele is doing, constantly. Hooray!
LOCOMOTION, thats my title. To me it represents the act or power of moving from one place to another.

hi boys and girls! WOW! okay first, a big THANK YOU, to everyone who participated and took the time out to leave your title suggestions!! you guys gave me some amazing and really fitting titles. It is fun to see such varied title responses --- 50+ people can view the same painting yet each of them take away completely different thoughts.. feelings, etc.

okay so... it was hard to choose just one as I had it narrowed down to four that for me I felt were really perfect for the title for this painting.

I also want to say to the first poster, michael - yes very cool I would love to incorporate the poem into one of my works - please email it to me at - art (at) therawartist.com -- I can't wait to read it - thank u!

there are several that were left that I would love to use for future paintings too - so if you do come back in here to find out who the winner is and it is okay if I use your title for a painting in the future just leave your comments.

so without further ado... DRUMROLL PLEASE.....................

THE WINNER IS -

Amber with

"just scratching the surface"

amber we will send you an email to get your mailing address and I will be sending out your hand signed giclee print as soon as we hear back from you.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR PARTICIPATING!!
